Read the payout before the table name
A careful guide to blackjack terminology and rule differences. A table label never tells the whole story.
Two labels, different amounts
A blackjack label alone does not tell you how a winning natural is paid. As a published comparison, the Massachusetts rules include both 3-to-2 and 6-to-5 payouts. On a hypothetical £10 eligible winning blackjack, those ratios produce £15 or £12 of profit respectively. In both examples the original £10 stake is returned as well.
Use a small comparison
The £3 difference is easy to overlook when two tables share the same artwork and minimum stake. Put the payout in its own comparison field. Do not compress it into a broad star rating where readers cannot see the tradeoff. The arithmetic here compares one qualifying winning hand; it does not calculate either table's overall return.
Complete the rule record
A useful note also records the precise variant and where its rules were found. Keep side-wager payouts separate from the main hand. If a promotional description and the actual rules disagree, mark the detail unresolved rather than silently choosing the more appealing number.
